NG-Clear™

Due to accident, surgical procedure, or medical treatment,
patients can occasionally lose their ability to swallow for a
few days to a few weeks. In such cases, Nasogastric (NG)
tubes are inserted into the stomach through the patient's
nose so food or medication can be administered. In add-
ition, these tubes often are used to release gases from the stomach.

Clogging of NG tubes is a significant problem, occurring in approximately 25 percent of tubes. None of the current app-
roaches for clog removal, however, have proven consistently
effective. Actuated Medical has developed a revolutionary device,
